"Morocco strengthens its energy partnerships in Dakar during the Elec Expo Africa 2025"

From July 1 to 3, 2025, Dakar will host the Elec Expo Africa, a major pan-African event dedicated to electricity, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. Organized under the auspices of the African Electricity Confederation (CAFELEC), the event will allow more than 80 companies to showcase their expertise to the expected 2,000 professional visitors. This exhibition will be an opportunity to develop exchanges and cooperation on the continent in the energy sector.

Morocco is represented by a delegation composed of 44 member companies of the National Federation of Electricity, Electronics, and Renewable Energies (FENELEC), chaired by Omar Hjira, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade. This contingent covers the entire value chain of the sector: engineering, equipment, digital technology, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
Through a large-scale national pavilion, Moroccan companies seek to strengthen their position in the African market by showcasing their technological and industrial expertise.
The objective is to establish long-term industrial partnerships, enabling the development of South-South cooperation.

The African Electricity Confederation (CAFELEC), founded in 2009 at the initiative of FENELEC, now brings together the federations of 12 full African member countries. In addition to the Confederation's members, this exhibition is open to other countries, including France, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, which are actively involved in this year's work. As a continental organization, CAFELEC plays a central role in harmonizing technical standards, developing regional energy interconnections, and enhancing the skills of professionals in the African energy sector.

The Kingdom of Morocco's presence at Elec Expo Afrique 2025 is perfectly aligned with the country's diplomatic efforts to consolidate and develop its economic presence on the African continent.

This mobilization also aligns with the objectives of the 2025–2027 export promotion plan, signed between FENELEC, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).

The exhibition serves as a lever for economic diplomacy and regional cooperation. Morocco is positioning itself as an industrial partner, ready to support the implementation of projects in other African countries through regional consortia. For Mr. Ali El Harti, President of FENELEC, this commitment reflects a broader political orientation: "This exhibition not only reflects an economic commitment, but above all, it represents the embodiment of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him."

In a context where energy is becoming a vector of development, innovation, and continental integration, Morocco intends to play a leading role by sharing its expertise and strengthening South-South synergies.
