Congo-Brazzaville's first steps at the Olympic Games were in Tokyo in 1964. Since this first appearance, the Republic of Congo has participated in almost all editions of the Olympic Games. In addition to these disciplines, sports such as judo, swimming and table tennis have been added over the years.
Despite their commitment, none of the Congolese athletes have ever won a medal so far. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games mark the country's 15th participation in these high-level competitions.

The main disciplines of Congolese athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The Congo-Brazzaville delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was divided into several disciplines, including athletics, boxing, judo, swimming and table tennis.
In athletics, renowned sprinter Natacha Ngoye Akambi, a specialist in the 100m and 200m, as well as shot putter Franck Elemba once again represented the country. In boxing, we found Tchicaya Massengo, a promising boxer who would represent Congo's hopes in this sport. In judo, this time there was only one participant, Darcus Adiézé, as in swimming with Marc Mfanzou and in table tennis with Suraju Saka.
The participation of these different athletes in these different disciplines highlighted the diversity and potential of sport in Congo.

Despite the absence of medals won at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Congolese athletes managed to make an impression with their perseverance and performances in disciplines where competition is tough. Their presence represents a significant effort for Congolese sport and highlights the challenges and progress of athletes in a context of limited resources.
